Co-enzyme Q10, also known as ubiquinone, is prevalent in the mitochondria of cells, where it plays important roles in metabolic processes. It is involved in intra-cellular trans-membrane transport mechanisms, and the creation of ATP, crucial for energy. And it is an important anti-oxidant, alongside vitamin E.

Each capsule provides an easily managed supplemental dose for daily use. If you have been advised to take a higher, therapeutic, dose spread additional capsules throughout the day as the body absorbs proportionally less from a higher single dose. Co-enzyme Q10 is fat-soluble, so it is absorbed better if taken with meals. There is no recommended upper limit for daily intake of co-enzyme Q10, but it is advisable not to take more than 100 mg per day without medical advice.

There have been reports that co-enzyme Q10 may decrease the effectiveness of blood-thinning medications, such as warfarin. This supplement should not be taken during treatment with any blood-thinning, blood pressure or heart medication without specific medical advice or supervision.

The possible effects of co-enzyme Q10 supplementation during pregnancy are not fully understood. We recommend not to use this supplement if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Not recommended for children under 18 years of age. If in doubt please seek medical advice.
